Track 2
Hot Spring Inn - Exterior
Alright, so this is Ejimura-san's hot spring inn—
The "Ejimura Hot Springs"! It's totes more relaxing than it looked in the photos!
When he said the inn was struggling to rake in funds, I thought it'd look more like a haunted house.
Both the name and exterior seem fine... I guess, it's pretty decent lookin'.
Anyone can just put up a good front.
Well, no matter what we find, this is better than being locked up in a cramped office.
Geeeez, Kugurinu you're such a hater!1
On the website, it says that the concept is "a moment in the baths to give you a deeply tranquil sense of peace". I think this inn embodies that perfectly!
I agree. Just as the concept intends, it looks like we'll be able to relax more than normal. My expectations are rising.
Well, same here.
Oi, guys. The owner's here to greet us.
Everyone~ Welcome to our inn!
Thank you in turn, for inviting us to stay at your wonderful establishment.
We've reserved the inn for a 2 day, 1 night stay especially for you. Please look through every nook and cranny to give us a piping hot, no nonsense review!
Gotcha~ Just leaf it to us!
(But, is there really anything here that'd warrant such a harsh review....?)
Hot Spring Inn - Lobby
..THERE MIGHT BE TOO MANYYYY!!!!!
The interior is quite luxurious.
Flashy's the wrong word, it's more like overstimulating?
Isn't that great, the reason for his financial problems is clear now.
We could fix that just by removing all these unnecessary decorations.
Uhm, is there a problem....?
💦 Uhm, You see?! It's all just sho flashy that we feel so welcomed yanno!?!
Oh, you have a good eye! This was designed to bring the customers into a welcoming atmosphere!
Oi Natsuyaki. Stop being a chicken and buttering this fucker up. He asked for a harsh review.
But, but...! I mean, we've only seen the entrance! We can't judge based on this alone...!
Well, since we're here, how 'bout we get in the hot springs and dip?
No dipping!!!
How about we put our luggage in our rooms and discuss there?
I'm sure we're wasting our time though.
Hot Spring Inn - Room
Alright, let's meet up again later. I'll explain your planned activities then.
..........
Well, what do we do now.....
The problem's already pretty obvious.
I'll just be frank and ask: Have the other employees not said anything about this 'til now?
Perhaps they share the same tastes as Ejimura-san.
Even if we're talking 'bout tastes... it's all way too fuckin' weird. I'm starting to see why we got those absurd names back at HAMA House...
The room names here, like "A Girl's Strange Journey" and "Hagoromo Twins" seem to follow suit.
Well... To be honest, Chii's also pretty shocked with how eccentric everything is, but...
Doesn't that give the place it's unique charm?
So, the problem isn't Ejipyon's sense of style, but how to make the most of it.
That sort of sweet and endearing way of thinking is just like you, nyuszi. Always desperately trying to see the best in everything.
So, how can we make the most of it? That's what matters, right.
That's... We should all put our heads together....
...I also think that we shouldn't force any changes here.
Eh. You serious?
Take the decorations here for example. At first glance, they seem to be a random assortment of items. However, once you look closely, you'll notice they're themed around constellations....
I also thought that the usage of kintsugi2 was lovely.
That's like seeing the trees instead of the forest though.
The fact is that the business isn't doing well at the moment.
The concept is based on tranquility, to calm your heart and stuff - but dont'cha think it's impossible to relax here?
No matter, if the concept is to provide comfort, it's abstract so you can use whatever motifs you like.
I see... So, the reason why the inn has a bad reputation among guests was because there was a gap between their ideals and reality.
....I get it now.
The goal is to to transform the inn into a place of relaxation, in line with the concept, while also making the best of Ejipyon's sense of style.
Ain't that way easier said than done?
Yeah.... but, I think we've got some direction now!
Chihiro calls Kuguri 天邪鬼 (amanojaku), which refers to a type of demon.. they are known to be contrarians, so what he means to say is "you're such a contrarian!". But that felt kinda formal? especially for chii... so i changed it to hater, but you know what i mean.
Kintsugi refers to the technique/art of repairing broken items with liquid gold. It embodies the idea that one's fractures and imperfections make them more beautiful!
